Our method
A lab label has to mean something.
Thread & Torque Lab is built around transparent evidence labels. Research is useful. Editorial judgment is useful. Neither is quietly renamed as hands-on testing.
Current launch stage: published pages are research or decision guides. Bench reports begin only after physical testing is documented.
Five-step standard
From question to field note.
Define the decision
A page begins with one job, one reader question, and one explicit stopping point.
Collect primary sources
Manufacturer manuals, current product documentation, and applicable service information come first.
Build the bench method
Before testing, we record the material, thread, tool, measurement method, and expected limitations.
Publish what happened
Results include failures, setup changes, photos, dates, and uncertainty—not just a winner.
Recheck the live product
Availability, offer data, and Amazon links are refreshed through approved tools before publication.
How the site is funded
Affiliate links can pay us. They do not buy a conclusion.
Some links may earn Thread & Torque Lab a commission if you make a qualifying purchase. The price you pay does not increase because of that commission.
Product inclusion, evidence labels, and safety limits are editorial decisions. A product without reliable support, a usable fit, or verifiable availability does not earn a recommendation simply because it offers a commission.
